Welcome to Art by Rachel

Through my paintings, I offer a window into both the world as it is and the emotions that make it meaningful

Hello I am Rachel

I am a watercolor artist who captures the essence of our cherished loved ones, whether human or animal, through luminous, heartfelt portraits. With a background in watchmaking, I have an innate attention to detail, yet I know that true realism isn’t just about precision; it’s about what we choose to reveal. I carefully select the details that breathe life into my paintings, balancing realism with a touch of warmth and emotion.

About

For me, painting is an act of seeing, truly seeing. In a world where we filter reality through perception and memory, I strive to strip those layers away, to observe with clarity and sincerity. I paint realism not to simply replicate, but to understand, to connect, and to honour the quiet truths that make each face, each soul, unique.

At the heart of my work is light, both in color and in feeling. I want my art to be more than just a likeness; I want it to radiate gratitude, joy, and peace. Every brushstroke is a celebration of the beauty of life, the bonds we share, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. Through my paintings, I offer a window into both the world as it is and the emotions that make it meaningful.
